Alvin + Ries Emery {Actual wedding day}
Summary: I’ve known Emery through badminton games, although I’ve only joined them on the badminton games for couple months but we still keep in contact and remain as friends. She is truly a kind friend to those around her and I truly appreciate her sincerity in her advices to my photography business which means a lot to me. I was upmost happiest man on earth aside from the groom she’s married to when I was asked to be her official photographer for her wedding. I’ve to admit I was a little under pressure with her given background of ex-wedding bridal business and I knew she’s very detail when comes to her expectations of her wedding photos. It was one of the most memorable wedding day I’ve participated and simply one of the most close to my heart seeing a good friend of mine starting a new chapter of her life with her love ones.

Eric + Angel {Actual wedding day}
Summary: It was a great honour to be appointed as the photographer of Mr. Mah’s second son’s wedding day at Taiping. Although I’ve came to know Eric’s dad first before I’ve met the couple, I have to admit certain nervousness inside me during the 2 1/2 hour drive to Taiping to meet them. It is rather first time experience for me to meet the couple on the night before their wedding for the first time. I usually meet with my wedding clients weeks before their big day for better understanding of them. However, my nervousness soon disappear when I was greeted with their warm hospitality to me. I felt not like a photographer on job but rather as a guest to their wedding. They are such kind people. They’ve also arranged great place for me to rest for the night with the window view across the famous Taiping park. The big day started with great clear sky in the morning, it was beautiful throughout the day. Taiping is a small town but its history of heritage fascinates me, especially with all the buildings that is left from its colonial era still remain. I always find people from small town such as this tend to be more happier than the actual couple that is getting marry. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good thing. At least from the viewfinder of a photographer’s camera, a lot of great moments to captured. The bride is beautiful and I can see why the groom is such a sweetheart to her especially from their proposal video shown at the dinner, it was sweet and I don’t see how it will fail its mission of melting the heart to whom being proposed. It’s certainly one of the wedding to remember in my list of favourite wedding in year 2013.

Eric + Brigitte { Actual Wedding day }
Summary: It’s a beautiful day as the sky is blue as ocean and white clouds dancing in group to celebrate this important day of my client . I came to know the bride whom is the sister of my sister’s best friend. She is such a soft spoken charming character that takes care of people and makes everyone so comfortable with her. In fact both of them (bride & groom) makes me felt so comfortable with my work while shooting them photos. Sometimes it’s challenging to photograph exhausted bride & groom from a long day house hopping. Not them, they were always being very supportive and patience. The wedding dinner ceremony at Sunway Hotel is definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to. Wish them best of memories with their new chapter of their life!

Wendy + Melvin {AWD @ KL}
Summary: Continue from last post, it’s one of the most looking forward weekend in my life as my buddy Melvin’s actual wedding day is finally here. I’ve being upgraded not only being his official wedding photographer but more importantly I was one of his groom’s brotherhood line up versus the bride’s sisterhood line up for the day. Playing the double agent as the photographer but also one of the groom’s brothers, I’m sure the sisters must have felt confused approving the limit of my access at the bride’s house. Personally it was a very emotional wedding for me seeing your buddy you’ve known more than 20 over years getting married and starting a new chapter of his life with his other half. I am honoured to have such wonderful privilege capturing these important moments in their life. All the blessing to you, Melvin & Wendy : )

Wendy + Melvin {Bride dinner @ Bukit Mertajam}
Summary: Have you ever imagine how it will be like if were to host your own wedding dinner at your own school hall? That’s where my client & friend (bride) chose for her wedding dinner venue. I personally think it’s sweet experience. The thing about small town’s wedding dinner (actually it’s not small, over 60 tables) is always its people with the dinner environment. People there actually exchanging conversations with one another instead of busying staring at their phone & gadgets. Children ran around as they should be. What surprises me on that night or should I say in a Chinese wedding dinner is that there’s actually a dancing floor for everyone. I’ve seen the dance rehearsal from the bride’s parents (members of dancing academy, how cool is that!) and their efforts paid off ! They put up a splendid performance on the dance floor. It is all party after that : )
p.s. I am so looking forward to my over 2o years good buddy Melvin’s actual wedding day & dinner this coming weekend : )

Shairah + Amar Aziz {Solemnization}
Summary: 10.11.2012 Meet Shairah & Amar Aziz, the most daring couple up to date I’ve ever met. They are experts in skydiving, paragliding, scuba diving…etc. They would jump off the plane at over 10,00 feet high with pleasure and parachute of course. I knew Amar Aziz from one of my photography class and it was an honour when he asked me to shoot his wedding. It was my first experience shooting a Malay wedding and I am grateful to their patience guiding me through the details of a Malay wedding, I’ve learned a lot and fell in love with it : )
Let me share with you what I’ve learned:
Akad Nikah (marriage contract), which is the legal and religious part of the wedding. The groom signs the marriage contract and agrees to provide the bride with a mas kahwin (mahar,literally ‘marriage gold’ in form of money or goods or anything as requested by the bride). The mas khawin is a symbol to show that the men is willing and are prepared to build a family with the lady he chose to get married to.
The couple’s hands are dyed with henna during the berinai besar (great henna-ing) ceremony where the bride’s hair is also trimmed, eyebrows shaped and make-up applied by Mak Andam. Then the bride puts on her tudung (hijab or headscarf) to cover their hair and a selendang, or embroidered and beaded shawl over that. A crown is also placed on top of the shawl and the bride is ready for the Bersanding ceremony.
Bersanding (enthronement) begins with the groom’s march towards the bride’s home with friends, relatives, musicians and people waving bungamanggar (palm blossom). The main part of the bersanding involves the seating of the bridal couple on a dais and sprinkling them with yellow rice and scented water by family members, relatives and guests as a sign of blessing. Each guest will receive a Bunga Telur (egg flower), as a sign of fertility.
The couple are considered royalty for the day, where various royal customs are performed for them, including musicians playing court music a display of pencak silat.
Once again, congratulations to them !

Jessica Lip + Ares Wong {Actual Wedding Day}
4.28 , It’s a very special day to our client for their actual wedding day held at Taiping. It’s such a beautiful city town with amazing nature setting. Did I mention the trees in this city are just so beautiful to look at. At this very same day, it also marked as one of the important day into the history book of Malaysia. It’s the actual day of Bersih 3.0 also. More than 50,000 Malaysian citizen gathered at Dataran Merdeka with fair agenda demanding the government a clean election for future election to come . Unfortunately a peaceful rally demonstrated by public turned ugly when the law enforcement officers (policemen) under the influence of government authority suddenly charged at innocent citizen with fist and kicks, shooting tear gas and strong water cannon towards the innocent and unarmed crowds. Despite being 300km away from KL, we still want to contribute our support to these brothers and sister at the Bersih 3.0 so we brought the official Bersih Yellow T-shirt with us. Our bride and groom say yes giving their support of letting us wearing the yellow shirt throughout their wedding day . We received many thumb up from their wedding guest too. Congratulations to Jessica and Ares, two of you rock !

Our love story { Chee Meng & Poh Choo}
I couldn’t think of any more romantic day throughout the year than to celebrate your wedding anniversary with your best half on the Christmas day every year. That’s exactly what Chee Meng & Poh Choo are creating and to start their new chapter of their married life on 25 December 2011 with Christmas mood – Joy. Now the groom has no excuse to forget his wedding anniversary and the arrangement of celebration with his wife. The bride lives very far and it was the longest trip I’ve ever followed from the bride house to groom house, the journey took 1 hour but didn’t felt like one cause I’m just as excited as the bride to capture this very important moment of their new chapter of life. It was a warm hearted, full of christmas holiday spirit throughout the wedding day & night ceremony : ) Merry Christmas, Ho ho ho !
P.S. Love the little girl loves imitating the adults yelling her lungs out “Yum Sing” with her glass of water , she is so adorable : )
Stanley Tan + Joyce Soh love story {AWD}
Fast and Furious, Lady Gaga, Angry Bird, Performer in Chinese Opera mask disguise, Queens of karaoke, all the elements during Stanley & Joyce wedding day! What a wedding. It’s my good friend’s brother’s wedding and I’m glad being offered to shoot his brother’s wedding at Jenjarom. Before this, I only knew the famous chinese temple in Jenjarom which is always crowded every year during Chinese New Year without fail. Now I learned a lot of Chinese lives there and their food are really cheap and delicious, only RM3 for a Pan Mee, you can’t get that in KL. In a Chinese wedding, the “game” before the groom gets to fetch his lady away always fascinates me. It shows you how far the “brothers” would go for their friend-groom successfully meeting his bride in the final stage. I still couldn’t forget the image of one of groom’s “brother” has to eat the fruit hanging around …you know where..with eyes covered, I can’t imagine myself doing it. No, I can’t.
At the end of the wedding, everyone has a lot of fun during the dinner session. Especially the part where Lady Gaga entertaining the crowds. She or he is really good in entertaining the crowds. I remember seeing some of the male guest kissed / dance / hugged her despite She’s actually “He”. It was a fun wedding.
