Summary: What a weekend to spend with a group of passionate wedding & portrait photographers at the peak of Cameron Highland, Malaysia. Daran Wu (Taiwanese renowned wedding photographer) and I met last year when I was in Taiwan and we both came up with the idea of why not gathered together photographers whom we know from our respective country and passionate about learning new knowledge under a workshop with Daran and myself as the speakers. At the end of the 2 days 1 night workshop, we are both glad to received they’re satisfied and happy feedback throughout the trip. Most importantly, the openess and sharing our ideas makes us all became great friends to be with despite the shortness of time we’ve spend together. They’ve shared their short-coming and strength in their photography and we’ve shared ours. There’s nothing to hide in the topics we’ve shared among us during and after the workshop. We’ve even stayed till late midnight at the hotel they stayed in KL after our trip back from Cameron Highland purely discussing the differences of their wedding photography industry with ours. To me, that’s what photography really means, which is to meet people through journey & experiences and not the view finder on our camera and to me it carries a much greater meaning and greater weight to what we do as a photographer.
It’s our first experience and we’ve learned a lot and definitely there are rooms for improve, but overall I’m happy with the result. We’ve received positive comments of our professional talents including the make-up artist, models, the transportation arrangements, accommodation, sponsors of professional lighting equipment, we give our highest appreciation to their support we’ve received to this event ! We’re definitely doing this again next year and better !

Summary: Meet Mei Ling and Duncan, absolutely most adorable couple I’ve met so far. The first time we met over at our studio, it was to my surprise how close Mei Ling stay. It’s 5 minute walk from her place to my studio. I was truly honoured over their appraisal of my work after their research of many photographer’s work on wedding photos. It was a beautiful wedding ceremony held a club house with open barbecue concept. My pride being their official photographer for their big day went above the cloud when I received so many kind appraisal comments on my work with their ROM photos. You have no idea how much that meant to me , to have immediate praising of your work being their chosen photographer on their big day.
P.S. Thanks to the bride/groom couple even brought me a bottle of red wine (Spain) in appreciation of my work that night

Summary: I’ve known Emery through badminton games, although I’ve only joined them on the badminton games for couple months but we still keep in contact and remain as friends. She is truly a kind friend to those around her and I truly appreciate her sincerity in her advices to my photography business which means a lot to me. I was upmost happiest man on earth aside from the groom she’s married to when I was asked to be her official photographer for her wedding. I’ve to admit I was a little under pressure with her given background of ex-wedding bridal business and I knew she’s very detail when comes to her expectations of her wedding photos. It was one of the most memorable wedding day I’ve participated and simply one of the most close to my heart seeing a good friend of mine starting a new chapter of her life with her love ones.

Summary: It was a great honour to be appointed as the photographer of Mr. Mah’s second son’s wedding day at Taiping. Although I’ve came to know Eric’s dad first before I’ve met the couple, I have to admit certain nervousness inside me during the 2 1/2 hour drive to Taiping to meet them. It is rather first time experience for me to meet the couple on the night before their wedding for the first time. I usually meet with my wedding clients weeks before their big day for better understanding of them. However, my nervousness soon disappear when I was greeted with their warm hospitality to me. I felt not like a photographer on job but rather as a guest to their wedding. They are such kind people. They’ve also arranged great place for me to rest for the night with the window view across the famous Taiping park. The big day started with great clear sky in the morning, it was beautiful throughout the day. Taiping is a small town but its history of heritage fascinates me, especially with all the buildings that is left from its colonial era still remain. I always find people from small town such as this tend to be more happier than the actual couple that is getting marry. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good thing. At least from the viewfinder of a photographer’s camera, a lot of great moments to captured. The bride is beautiful and I can see why the groom is such a sweetheart to her especially from their proposal video shown at the dinner, it was sweet and I don’t see how it will fail its mission of melting the heart to whom being proposed. It’s certainly one of the wedding to remember in my list of favourite wedding in year 2013.

Summary: It’s a beautiful day as the sky is blue as ocean and white clouds dancing in group to celebrate this important day of my client . I came to know the bride whom is the sister of my sister’s best friend. She is such a soft spoken charming character that takes care of people and makes everyone so comfortable with her. In fact both of them (bride & groom) makes me felt so comfortable with my work while shooting them photos. Sometimes it’s challenging to photograph exhausted bride & groom from a long day house hopping. Not them, they were always being very supportive and patience. The wedding dinner ceremony at Sunway Hotel is definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to. Wish them best of memories with their new chapter of their life!
Summary: Continue from last post, it’s one of the most looking forward weekend in my life as my buddy Melvin’s actual wedding day is finally here. I’ve being upgraded not only being his official wedding photographer but more importantly I was one of his groom’s brotherhood line up versus the bride’s sisterhood line up for the day. Playing the double agent as the photographer but also one of the groom’s brothers, I’m sure the sisters must have felt confused approving the limit of my access at the bride’s house. Personally it was a very emotional wedding for me seeing your buddy you’ve known more than 20 over years getting married and starting a new chapter of his life with his other half. I am honoured to have such wonderful privilege capturing these important moments in their life. All the blessing to you, Melvin & Wendy : )

Summary: Have you ever imagine how it will be like if were to host your own wedding dinner at your own school hall? That’s where my client & friend (bride) chose for her wedding dinner venue. I personally think it’s sweet experience. The thing about small town’s wedding dinner (actually it’s not small, over 60 tables) is always its people with the dinner environment. People there actually exchanging conversations with one another instead of busying staring at their phone & gadgets. Children ran around as they should be. What surprises me on that night or should I say in a Chinese wedding dinner is that there’s actually a dancing floor for everyone. I’ve seen the dance rehearsal from the bride’s parents (members of dancing academy, how cool is that!) and their efforts paid off ! They put up a splendid performance on the dance floor. It is all party after that : )
p.s. I am so looking forward to my over 2o years good buddy Melvin’s actual wedding day & dinner this coming weekend : )
