Christine + Tristan {Seam Reap, Angkor Wat}

Summary: About a month ago, I received an email request from Christine and Tristan that they’ve been backpacked throughout most part of south east asia countries for the past two months, nothing comes as exotic as the landscape of Angkor Wat and they wanted a photo session here, I couldn’t be more excited as Angkor Wat has always been one of my favourite place for photo shoot destination for clients or travel purposes. In our first meeting at their hotel, they were very outspoken and friendly couple which excites me throughout the entire photo shoot session. I love clients that outspoken, communicates and adventurous to try out suggestions from photographers. I remember there were one moment I’ve suggested to them that it would be nice if they could climb up there’s this one gorgeous looking big tree for a photo, before I could re-confirm with them, Christine has already made her moves climbing up the tree, and so is Tristan. Compare to most of Asian couples I’ve met, not many of them will show enthusiasm if you ask them to climb rocks / trees. I must say we were all very blessed that day with beautiful sunny day and manageable crowds at times of photo shoot. Other than our photo trip, I’m also very grateful they’ve recommended me to see the Phare Circus at Siem Reap. It was just truly an amazing experience. I’m glad to meet Christine and Tristan in this unforgettable photo journey with them and hope to see them again, probably visiting their new home in Boston in near future.

Sneak peek – Golden marriage anniversary family trip

Cave adventure
A shot of client’s big family that consist of 42 members exploring at the famous Gua Tempurang

Summary : A sneak peek into one of the images taken on a client’s request in tagging along their big family sizes of 42 pax celebration of their parent’s golden marriage anniversary trip – the famous Gua Temperung at Perak.

Carol + Tuomas { Church wedding day }

Story : It’s 12,000 km apart between Malaysia and Finland , and it’s 9,000 km apart of India and Finland, but both of my client Carol (Malaysia) and Tuomas (Finland) are both standing in front of the altar today giving their wedding vows to start a family of their own, a new chapter of them together. The magic of how fate works to have two person meet, fall in love, marry and start a family never failed to amazes me, perhaps only the Almighty knows how it works.

I need my nap { creative baby portrait }

Summary : I was lately very inspired by some of the creative theme for baby shoot, so decided to start my own for my client’s baby boy ADEN today.

Zhi Xuen with her 1st cake { Cake smashing }

Summary : Zhi Xuen is slow to hype up when arrived at our studio, a totally new environment requires some time for her to adapt to but not till when the cake arrive in front of her. It was a messy business. Her cute expression of looking all miserable that the adult are not stopping her but encouraging her to mess up the place. It was a fun afternoon with Zhi Xuen, including the  cleaning up afterwards.

Tattoo artist parents + newborn { conceptual newborn portrait }

Summary: When my client arrived with her newborn baby boy, I knew she’s a tattoo artist but did not knew her husband too is a very popular tattoo artist. How cool is that ! My mind is running wild with ideas having two tattoo artist parent at my studio doorsteps. They were very keen in sharing their ideas too and fun to work with. This has to be one of the coolest newborn photoshoot I’ve done. I’ve also discovered they are both very popular with many fans following them in their Facebook page. I’ve always fascinates with tattoo artist dedication to their art, probably we’re all creating something that is not only to the likes for our clients but something uniquely our arts. Here’s some sneak peek to some of the shots taken that day.

Baby Haena , my beautiful niece { baby portrait }

I’ve shot quite number of babies, this one is different because she’s my beautiful niece. This would be the third time I couldn’t resist held up my camera and she seems to recognises her uncle – the full of beard dude whom seem can’t get enough of photographing me since birth. Such a lovely afternoon spend the time with my sister and her daughter at our newly moved in place.

Sarah + David { wedding reception }

The lovely couple asked me a favour for some of their profile shoot before their reception starts. When I knew they are musicians from Britain that travel with their orchestra members around the world for performances, I am honoured to be their official photographer on this important night to them, especially to Sarah. It was a night specially dedicated to the remembrance of her late dad by flying all the way from Britain and to host their wedding reception here with relatives that still lives in Malaysia. I especially love the part they perform wholeheartedly in front of their relatives members. It’s one of the most beautiful music pieces I’ve heard live. It’s a beautiful night and I truly enjoyed it too.

One fine day with Yati’s family { Family portrait – outdoor theme }

I love outdoor shooting ! When Yati called us for her family portrait at outdoor, I’m thrilled. I love shooting for Malay’s family because there’s something about them attracted me. I guess it’s their quality of kind hearted and humble personality from my encounter experiences. Especially their children seem to be more obedient and polite compare to other children I’ve encountered. It’s their culture I guess. Beautiful lighting goes to people willing to be with the photographer in the early morning : )
